Projects // Projects // UCLan - Bespoke CMS and object rotation photography
the brief
The University of Central Lancashire’s fashion department had lots and lots and even more vintage fashion items in safe storage. They required a way in which to exhibit them, both to the public and for academic and research purposes.
the answer
Using our unique customisable Turbo Lemon CMS, we created a site that was able to overcome the huge issue of information architecture, finding sensible ways to process and display the vast amounts of information per item. We also developed a unique customisable browsing function to help the user along. The site allows user contributed notes and tagging. That’s not all –to make items of specific interest more appealing, we applied our object rotation photography, allowing the user to rotate the item to digest it more comprehensively. The administrator of the site is able to add and edit items, moderate comments, add tags, update static pages and manage other users. Another built to specific requirements project. All in all, pretty special! Web Design: (X)HTML and CSS. Graphic Design: Logo design. Photography: all items commissioned for studio shots. Object rotation photography.
